This Itadogun, Ifa warns us that we must make sacrifice to retain our home.
Ifa tells us the story of the giant rat who was told to offer ebo to prevent being chased out of his home. The sacrifice: one brightly colored fila (hat/cap) to Esu. The giant rat refused to make the sacrifice, saying that no one could run him from his home. Not long after, his burrow collapsed and he was forced to go, humiliated and in shame, in search of a new home for him and his family.
Ifa enjoins us to make sacrifice to Esu Odara with one brightly colored fila (hat).
