Sacred Odu Ifa Ose Omolu (Ose Ogunda) teaches us:
Orunmila ni ka sope
Mi ka sope kasope ka sope
Won ni ki omo eku o sope
Omo eku ni nitori i kinni
Orunmila ni nitori i jije ati mumi ofe
Omo eku ni oun o nii sope
Iku u renii pawon omo eku…

Orunmila says “lets be thankful”
I say we should be giving thanks
They asked the rats to be thankful
The rats asked, “Why?”
Orunmila responded that it was because of gratuitous feeding and drinking
The rats said there is no need to be thankful
The consequence of this ingratitude leads to the death of the rats…

I am writing this to send a special thank you and warm appreciation to all those who attended and who made possible the ceremony for my installation as the Otun Amufawuni of Ibadanland. It was truly a spectacular event.

Also I will like to give a special thank you to my elders and friends who stood up for me when others were trying to belittle my name or my title or otherwise blemish my good image. I faced many detractors during the past 2 months due to the chieftaincy installation and many people whom i had previous looked up to as my elders came out to be jealous and conniving, and many of them conspired against me to try to attack me online and try to defame me in online forums. I believe this was due to jealousy about the chieftaincy installation. At this point many people, including my elders and my contemporaries, rushed in to defend me.

There is a verse of Ifa from the sacred Odu Ifa Oyekuogunda that says:
Eta kankan babalawo agbe
lo difa fun agbe
won ni ki agbe o sebo
ko le baa gberi igi dale
eta sasa babalawo aluko
lo difa fun aluko
won ni ki aluko sebo
ko le baa gberi igi dale
bagbe ba ke
egbe re a ke
baluko ba ke
egbe re a gba

Eta kankan, the babalawo of Agbe
Cast Ifa for Agbe
Agbe was advised to offer Ebo
in order to live long in the tree tops
Eta sasa, babalawo of Aluko
cast Ifa for Aluko
Aluko was advised to offer Ebo
to live long in the tree tops
If Agbe shouts
His colleagues will shout
If Aluko shouts
His colleagues will support him

I want to thank everyone who rushed to my defense when detractors were trying to tear me down. Some of the people who defended me publicly are: High Chief Fayemi Fatunde Fakayode, Babalawo Faseye Fagbemi, Iyanifa Fajemirola Ifetayo Fakayode, Iyanifa Fagbemiro Fajebe Fakayode, High Chief Fayomi Falade Aworeni Obafemi, Babalawo Fategbe, and many others whose names are not listed here. Thanks to you for your fearless opening of mouth even when in the face of opposition. Thank you for defending me. I am grateful to Olodumare to have such a great spiritual family.
I will also especially like to thank the following people for making the entire chieftaincy possible: High Chief Fayemi Fatunde Fakayode, High Chief Oyewusi Fakayode, High Chief Akinola Akinleye, and the other Chiefs of Osemeji Temple in Oja Oba, Ibadan, Nigeria.
I also must thank all those who made this past trip possible and a success, all of those who contributed physically and in spirit. A very special thank you to Fasooto Ogungbemi Fakayode, for making the trip possible. Olodumare will surely return the blessings to you over and over again. Ase O
I must also thank my wife and son, Oyaseye Fakayode and Famarada Ojo Fakayode, for their support and understanding and allowing me to leave them for some days. And also thank you to many many others who are not named here but who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of the trip.
